Layout and Colour: Lia Saile
Lia Saile used to have this really nice-looking site, it was full of circles. She seems to have half-revamped lately, and there aren’t as many circles. Also it’s a bitch to navigate, and only 1/4 of her work is on it.
but there are still some circles.
The part that I found really interesting was how placing the image inside the circle really changed it. It made pictures that were familiar to me unfamiliar, and it was a nice way to use the image as a figurehead for the category, while seperating it from the contents of the gallery. So the picture wasn’t just repeated.
I also really like the soft, washed out colours that dominate the layout. Ad the way images in the layout are integrated into the pure white background with the circles and rounded corners. It’s all very seamless.
